Description

Birth defects of the brain and spine (neural tube defects). Taking 600-800 micrograms of folic acid orally daily during pregnancy reduces the risk of these birth defects.
Improved symptoms in some people with depression.
It reduces blood pressure in some people with high blood pressure who are not taking other blood pressure medications.
